Personal Branding
February 23, 2010
All throughout school, I was taught how to be an advocate — for brands, products, organizations, values — you name it, I advocated it. Now that I am graduated and soon-to-be (but not quite yet) employed, the only thing I have to advocate is myself.
Easy, right? — It should be. It has been so far, but it’s terrifying, to say the least. I have no doubts that I can do (and excel at) any job I apply for, and that I can learn anything I don’t already know. I know that I’m personable, sometimes (less frequently than more) humorous and can get along with just about anyone. I also know that I love what I do — advocating.
Therefore, I am going be an advocate for something — brand, product, organization, value, belief — every day until I get a job… just to take the pressure off myself a bit!
